Operating Changes due to COVID-19
NEK-CAP, Inc. is working hard to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our individuals, families, children, and staff. The safety and security of our individuals, staff, families and children are of NEK-CAP, Inc.'s upmost concern during this time. To help combat the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) NEK-CAP, Inc. has implemented temporary operational changes. These changes are following recommendations from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and other governmental agencies.
Temporary changes effective 3/16/2020:
- NEK-CAP, Inc. services applications can be completed online through links in the Services pages, and will be followed up by phone or email.
- Applications will have to be completed online, or assisted with by phone.
- NEK-CAP, Inc. Central Office in Hiawatha, KS is closed to the public.
- All Head Start/Early Head Start centers and Outreach locations are closed to the public.
- Appointments will be held via telephone, there will be no face-to-face appointments.
- Staff will not be making home visits.
- Home inspections will be suspended.
If you are in need of assistance please contact us at the phone numbers below between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. If you do not reach anyone please leave a message. Many staff are working from home and checking messages frequently.
